Dr. Magid has been practicing psychiatry for 20 years. She equally enjoys medication management and psychotherapy, in addition to being involved in cutting edge research on "novel interventions for depression."
With over 100 publishings (books, articles, and posters), media appearances, and invited lectures in psychiatry, she is an academic leader on mood disorders and the mind-body connection.
After graduating from the world-renowned Mayo Clinic, she was recruited to Austin Texas. During her 7 years with the Department of Psychiatry at Seton Family of Hospitals, Dr. Magid served as the Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy and was faculty for the Psychiatry Residency Program. She has received multiple honors including Teacher of the year, Colleague of the year, Texas Monthly "Super Doctor," the Patients Choice Award, the Compassionate Doctor recognition, and the Brain and Behavior Young Investigator Award. She is a member of the prestigious American College of Psychiatrists.
During her MBA at the University of Texas, Dallas, Dr. Magid received executive coach training to complement her previous psychotherapy training. She has been recruited nationally to coach business leaders, lawyers, physicians, athletes, and other professionals who are interested in peak performance.
At Boston University, Dr. Magid was captain of the Division I Tennis team and was awarded student-athlete of the year. She was named an "All-American," for her achievements both on and off the court.
As an associate professor for UT Dell Medical School and Texas A&M Health Science Center, Dr. Magid's main passion is "teaching doctors how to be doctors."
Dr. Magid enjoys playing tennis, running, Pilates, traveling, and spending time with her husband, who is a dermatologist, and her two children.
